know.crpg.id is an encyclopedia of Indonesian law and regulation, published by the Center for Regulation, Policy and Governance (CRPG), a research institute on water law, regulation and governance in Indonesia. It is also the knowledge base of CRPG's research on water, environment and natural resources governance since 2012. Its English articles are free to read, with no account or sign-up. It holds 268 articles in English.
Each article is about one subject: a legal instrument, a Constitutional Court decision, a bill, a legal concept, a CRPG project, or a field of law surveyed as a whole. Every article about an instrument is written from the instrument's own text, held in CRPG's regulation vault, and links the instrument's official source.
CRPG publishes a daily regulatory tracker and analysis on crpg.id. Every post there is converted into the know.crpg.id article about the thing it reports, usually within a week: a new instrument gets a new article, and a further post on it extends the one that exists. The posts are cited as the record of a development; what a law provides is cited to the law. See how sources are cited.
The articles are machine-drafted: an AI model writes each one from the sources it cites, and each article says so in a line at its head. An article is not the official text of any law or court decision, and it is not legal advice.
Articles follow the conventions of Wikipedia: a neutral, unsigned register, a lead that defines the subject, an infobox, footnoted sources, and links to related articles. See the manual of style.
The English encyclopedia is the front page. The Indonesian pages include the water tenure knowledge base produced with FAO.
